Renting is not a separate flow. Start a listing exactly as you would for a sale and choose "rental" as the listing type — the price field is replaced by the rental fields.

Set your terms
You set four things: the daily rate, a security deposit, and the minimum and maximum number of days you are willing to rent for. The deposit is held, not charged — it is released when the piece comes back as it left.
How a booking runs
A renter checks your availability and requests specific dates. You approve or decline. The booking then moves through requested, confirmed, active, returned and completed, with the deposit held for the duration and released at the end.

Fees on a rental
The same 5% commission applies to the rental subtotal and comes out of your payout. The security deposit carries no fee at all — it is a hold that is normally released in full, not income.
